Monday 12th September
As the remnants of Hurricane Katia hit the UK this week we can expect disruption to the transport network. Already the high winds caused by this cyclone have closed the port of Felixstowe, with other ports and inland container terminals expected to close soon. As the winds intensify we expect closure of susceptible roads to high sided vehicles and probably temporary closure or ports and airports, with delays inevitable on ferry crossings around the UK.
The weather system is expected to continue to move in a north easterly direction and clear the UK by Thursday.
